Feeling Better Every Day ...

Dad is feeling pretty good - he was able to spend a little time outside picking up leaves this week. Thank you to his sweet neighbor who came over and picked up a lot of leaves for him. What a blessing!!!

The last two days, Dad has spend his time at Shawn's new house....spending time with the boys as they help Shawn build a new home for his family. Dad enjoys being with the guys and watching the progress. Thank you for your prayers as Dad regains strength every day.

Update on Dad.....Amazing God .... How can it be.....

On Sunday, Dad and Mom were able to take a day trip to southern Michigan to deliver Tim to his new job. They also had an opportunity to visit with Mom's sister, Stella. Thank you God that Dad is feeling good enough to make the trip.

On Monday, Dad pulled vines out of the garden to prepare for winter. He emptied the dishwasher and did a little laundry.

Today he went to town to visit friends, ran errands and had his blood retested. His White Blood count and Hemoglobin are below the desired levels. His Red Blood Count and Platelets are within the acceptable range.

It is because you went to God on his behalf that Dad is doing well!!! THANK YOU

A significant difference........

Since his Blood Transfusion, Dad is doing much better - He was able to get outside today. He gathered up and drained the garden hoses and placed them in the barn for winter storage - Thank you, Tim, for helping Dad prepare for winter.

Dad also was able to go to Shawn's new house for a while to check out the progress. His feet and hands are still numb but his energy level is significantly improved.

Thank You for your continued prayer - God is GREAT!!!

Transfusion Complete and He's Back Home in his Chair ! ! !

Dad's blood transfusion when well today. He received 2 bags of Red Blood Cells. The first bag was VERY sloooooooow. The nurses were kind and patient as they really had to monitor and adjust his arm and needle to get the blood to flow. The second bag went much better. He was in the Infusion Center from 8:00 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. today. They fed him lunch, he watched his own private little TV (which as you can imagine made him happy) while he napped.

There is a little family debate about whether Dad truly has a head cold or whether it is seasonal allergies - this morning his summation was that he had a "snotty nose". Thank you for your prayers in this matter - God knows which it is and we can still ask him to protect Dad from infection. We appreciate your continued prayers and support.
Hey - Brother Jeff - check out the sweatshirt!!!

We'll give an update in a couple of days as to whether this transfusion helps. Bless you.

In Need of a Blood Transfusion and Prayer ! ! !

Dad will be receiving a Blood Transfusion tomorrow (Thursday, October 2). His blood test results were low. His Hemoglobin and Red Blood Counts are at their lowest point since he started his treatment. He will be going at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow and it will take approximately 5-6 hours.

He also has a head cold - please pray for a complete recovery - he does not need to get a cold in his chest or get an infection. He is not feeling well at all. He has been feeling poorly since Saturday. The side effects of the last Chemo have been difficult. His bones and muscles hurt, he is dizzy at times, sleepy and just doesn't feel well.

Please pray with us for the following...
  • that the transfusion will go well tomorrow and that it will help boost his system
  • his cold will clear up and not become more serious

Thank you and May God Bless.
